3 Easy & Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids.
With both of us having young kids at home (who all seem to have hollow legs and literally need snacks all day long), we both use these quick and easy recipe to keep the kids happy and full.
Keen to make them healthy, with no interest in spending a long time on these snacks (Anna mainly) they have few ingredients and could not be more simple, but are still full of flavour and are firm favourites in our home.
Banana Pops
(Three ingredients easy & healthy icy poles)
1-2 frozen or fresh Bananas
1 400g can of Coconut Milk
2 tbs of Rice Malt Syrup
Combine all the ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Then pour into resealable icy-pole moulds and freeze. Recipe makes 6 plus icy-poles (we use any left overs in ice cube trays to add to smoothies) Kmart have some really cool icy pole moulds – KMART
Berry Crunch
½ cup of fresh or frozen Blueberries
1 cup of coconut water
1 Tbs Honey (less or more depending on how sweet you want them).
Simply put these ingredients in the blender (we use our vitamix) and then pour into icy-pole moulds – makes 6 plus.
Sugar free Choc Balls
½ cup of Oats
2 Tbs Chia seeds
1/3 cup Cacao
1/3 cup Rice Malt Syrup or Molasses
½ cup of melted coconut oil
¼ – ½ cup Hot water (add more if needed)
Mix all ingredients with a spoon in a bowl. Then when the mixture has cooled roll into balls, dust with shredded coconut and pop in the fridge and enjoy!!
